2 reasons:
1) She suffered a tragedy because of her poison body in the other empire and was treated cruelly for it. The two people here in 2d picture, adopted her as their child in the other empire, her poison body broke out and killed them accidentally and unintentionally, even while dying, they didn't blame her, but the empire did and cruelly dealt with her for this incident, ostracizing her and hurting her without trying to understand anything, they judged her guilty.
Her body constantly causing her pain and with the addition of recent trauma, her mental state became very unstable and she chose the path of cruelty to take over the neighboring empire, since they treated her cruelly and cruelty is the language they understand, then she will also speak in that language.
2) She attacked Jia Ma Empire because Hall of Souls made a deal with her, that if she did, they will cure her of her cursed poison body while preserving her life. She didn't know why they wanted her to attack Jia Ma Empire, her deal was only to attack and crush it, not much additional info was given to her. Basically same manipulation tactics used by Hall of Souls when they used Misty Cloud Sect / Yun Lan Sect, so they can pressurize Xiao Yan to hand over Toushe Ancient God Jade.

author was too cruel for her character i will say, the same issue will arise in central region when xiao yan will be separated from her...but luckily she wont be that ruthless as xiao yan will be there for her always...

I'm not very confident in my understanding of the novel but here goes. Since she was born. Her poison body kills whoever it touches(I'm guessing it probably included her mom at birth and then her dad ). With such a history it's obvious she'd lack good emotional growth/affection. As a young girl and with her condition she'd definitely crave intimacy more than anyone could ever imagine. So it's natural that she's unstable with psychological issues (as is common to women who lack affection), if u notice, it' seems she's very cold to anyone except xiao yan, that's why it shocked luo tian to see her kind side. In the novel, a hall of souls member, simply asked her to take over jiama empire, defeat yan aliance, capture it's leader and they'll hand her the cure to her poison body condition. It was reasonable for her to accept the deal. By the way in the novel i think xiao yan had more difficulty dealing with her poison than portrayed in this ep. He was also more exhausted from fighting the bird guy dou zong too.

yeah they changed it a bit, making it a bit emotional, and i would say the change was reasonable but it is fine as long as the main plot wont divert

When her poison reaches out of control in future, she will self destruct and 5000 miles radius will be nothing but woe full poison. you can guess how many people will die.

So she can do small wars but don't want to cause people within 5000 miles radius to die.
